THE LEAGUE’S FIRST AWARDS CEREMONY CAPS A SUCCESSFUL FIRST SEASON, AS THE PWHL RECOGNIZES THE BEST OF THE BEST IN WOMEN’S PRO HOCKEY

THE INAUGURAL PWHL SEASON was an off-ice success for several reasons, including record-setting attendance and the development of fan bases. But as the league said repeatedly, it was the on-ice product they got right before all else. That accomplishment was due largely to the game’s star players, who were recognized at the first PWHL Awards ceremony, held in St. Paul, Minn. The event honored the league’s first and second all-star teams, all-rookie team and handed out awards for goalie of the year, defender of the year, rookie of the year, coach of the year and the Billie Jean King Award for league MVP.
