We asked members of the THN family to give us their picks for a variety of honors. Here’s who came out on top when we tallied up the totals

MARIO LEMIEUX AWARD(Best player) NATHAN MACKINNON, COL THOUGH MACKINNON DIDN’T LEAD the league in a single major statistical category other than shots (405), he finished fourth in goals (51), third in assists (89) and second in points (140). It’s his style as much as substance, as the highlight-reel machine is a one-man attack, and he often has to be for the cap-constricted Avalanche. RUNNERS-UP 2. Connor McDavid, Edm 3. Nikita Kucherov, TB 4. Auston Matthews, Tor 5. Artemi Panarin, NYR BOBBY ORR AWARD(Best defenseman) QUINN HUGHES, VAN HUGHES SET CAREER-BEST TOTALS in goals (17), assists (75) and points (92) – leading all NHL D-men in the latter two categories – and it didn’t come at the expense of his own-zone play.
