OWNERSHIP SAMANTHA HOLLOWAY WHEN THE KRAKEN first arrived in the NHL, Samantha Holloway was a background player. Then residing in Denver, she had a minority stake in the NHL’s newest franchise, the majority of which was owned by her father, David Bonderman. But two years after selling her tech startup GoSpotCheck and on the heels of co-founding a startup studio and an investment company, Holloway delved deeper into the family business. In 2022, she was elevated to co-owner and chair of the Kraken, roles she assumed alongside her position as newly minted chair of the Seattle Hockey Partners’ executive committee. Then, after Bonderman passed in December 2024 at 82, Holloway, who had assumed much of the responsibility for Seattle’s operations, adopted a broader ownership of the franchise.
