OWNERSHIP DARYL KATZ WHEN THE PRODUCERS of the acclaimed Formula 1 docuseries Drive to Survive set out to chronicle hockey’s most compelling behind-the-scenes stories in Prime Video’s Faceoff: Inside the NHL, it would ultimately be superstar Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers who would take center stage. That’s a testament to how the NHL’s northernmost franchise has reversed its fortunes after a very real threat of relocation in the late 1990s.
