BY STU COWAN PREDICTION | 8TH IN ATLANTIC THE MONTREAL CANADIENS’ rebuild will continue this season after the Habs missed the playoffs for the third straight year. A season-ending knee injury to center Kirby Dach in the second game last year threw a wrench into the rebuilding plans. Dach is expected to be ready to start 2024-25, but the big question is whether he can stay healthy. After sending away late first-round picks to acquire Dach and Alex Newhook at the previous two drafts, the Canadiens chose to keep their powder dry this time around. Instead, they selected center Michael Hage at No. 23 after taking right winger Ivan Demidov fifth overall.
