When cinemas reopen they’ll have their work cut out tempting viewers inside. But Simon Brew says some old favourite titles may be the answer

Question marks remain, you’ll be surprised to hear, over the reopening of cinemas around the UK. Currently, most multiplex chains are targeting July to throw open their doors again (at the time of writing, Cineworld, Odeon and Vue have all indicated that’s their plan), and that in turn has brought about questions as to just what they’re going to show. Sure, there’s Tenet from filmmaker Christopher Nolan and Disney’s live action remake of Mulan still set for July. But the cupboard, those aside, looks pretty bare by summer movie standards. Some films have been delayed to new dates in August and September, but the choice has inevitably dwindled as many productions have opted for a video-on-demand release instead.
