Some lockdown measures have lifted for now, but make no mistake – millions across the UK are facing an uphill struggle to keep themselves afloat. Foodbank use is at a record high after thousands were pushed out of work by the Covid-19 crisis. The Trussell Trust said last week that it gave out nearly 90 per cent more food parcels in April compared to the same month, while the Independent Food Aid Network reported a 175 per cent surge in demand during the same period. And families with children to feed are being hit the hardest.
