“Something will change – with this number of people doing something about it.” These were the words of a Big Issue vendor onsite during Sleep in the Park, where 8,000 people took part in the world’s biggest charity sleep-out on December 9, camping in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens on what was the coldest night of the year, to raise money to “end homelessness”.
Before retreating into sleeping bags, the crowd was entertained by Liam Gallagher, Amy Macdonald, Rob Brydon and John Cleese, who read a very sweary bedtime story.
