London-based Bonnie Garmus was raised in Riverside, California. “My parents were by-products of the Depression, so practicality and frugality were important themes, as was reading,” she tells The Weekly. Bonnie worked as a copywriter and wrote novels in her spare time, never believing she could make “an actual living at it”. So, at the age of 64, Bonnie screamed when 16 publishers bid for Lessons in Chemistry, as did her family. “I was absolutely shocked. It still doesn’t seem possible.” The book is also being made into a TV series.…
