The shells of hardboiled fresh eggs peel off more easily if you add a teaspoon of bicarb soda to the water. It helps to have the water already boiling, too. Dye hard
Instead of using coloured dye, paint hard-boiled or artificial Easter eggs with two coats of black chalkboard paint, then allow the kids to decorate them with white or coloured chalk.
If you regularly
use your printer, choose greyscale instead of colour where possible, and check out ‘ink-saving fonts’ on your favourite search engine to use even less.
For all seasons
While passionfruit are cheap and plentiful, store them whole in the freezer, or scoop them into ice cube trays and freeze, before storing them in ziplock bags.
