Paule Lebowitz (Clémentine Célarié), 50 ans, se consacre corps et âme au prestigieux cabinet d’avocats qu’elle a fondé il y a des années avec Simon (Antoine Duléry), dont elle est divorcée. Sa vie bascule quand elle apprend le mariage secret de son ex avec Irène (Caroline Anglade), une jeune collaboratrice. Mais alors qu’elle demande à Simon des explications, celui-ci s’effondre, terrassé par une crise cardiaque.
