MY ROOM... ABOUT ME I’m Wendy Marsh, 38, and I live in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, with my husband Mark and our two children, Lola, 7, and Connor, 4. We bought our three-bedroom semidetached house in December 2010. MY CHALLENGE The house was run down and dated, especially Lola’s room, which had an unsightly boiler cupboard, bad lighting, uneven floorboards and flaking walls. It was also cold, as there was no underlay. LOLA’S WISH LIST Lola wanted a room ‘fit for a princess’. It had to be bright, with a place to do drawing and writing, and she needed a new single bed as her old one was too small. Most of all she wanted it pink – I, however, wanted a little less pink!
