Normalerweise erforschen Sie auf Helgoland die Folgen des Klimawandels für das Meer.Warum sind Sie gerade in Australien? Meine Schwester lebt seit Langem hier. Ich besuche sie und unsere 90-jährige Mutter. Aber wegen der Brände ist alles anders gelaufen, als wir geplant hatten. Statt mit den Kindern Ausflüge zu machen, sitzen wir jetzt hier im Haus in Sydney und können diese Tragödie einfach nicht fassen. Sie klingen frustriert. Was hier geschieht, zeigt doch, wie unverantwortlich unser Umgang mit dem Klimawandel ist. Wissen Sie, meine Schwester ist Ärztin. Wir sprachen darüber, dass unsere Erde auch wie ein Patient ist, dem es gerade richtig schlecht geht, aber es wird nicht so gehandelt.
