When Star Wars Forces of Destiny made its debut at Star Wars Celebration in April this year, two things in particular stood out about the new animated series. Firstly, it was remarkably femaleled. Secondly, it was remarkably good. While each episode is just three minutes long, the scale and ambition on display are fully in keeping with everything you would expect from a Lucasfilm Animation project. It’s also notable for an all-star cast that includes Daisy Ridley (Rey), Felicity Jones (Jyn), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka), Catherine Taber (Padmé) and Tiya Sircar (Sabine)—not to mention a certain John Boyega voicing Finn.
