Duke marks Trust’s achievement

It was a case of thanks a million when the Duke of Cambridge joined the Country Food Trust on social media recently to celebrate it passing the landmark of delivering more than a million game ready meals to people in need since it was founded five years ago. Tim Woodward, the Trust’s chief executive, said that it had been an “incredible journey”. “One million meals is a major landmark for us in our aim of helping people in food poverty, but also a moment to contemplate the sheer scale of the need for food within our country.” That need has never been more apparent than during the coronavirus crisis. Mr Woodward said that it had become clear during the pandemic that “more and more people have fallen into food poverty”.…
