Even better than the real thing

Are simulated shoots better than driven game days or are they nothing more than glorified clay shooting? The Editor travels to Wales to find out

In Cumbria, where I was brought up, the weather would have been described as ‘gey clashy’. That translates as a blustery day with rain or hail one minute and sun the next. The light was changing second by second and it was as if the landscape had been captured in time-lapse photography. I was in Mid Wales in late January, so unpredictable weather was only to be expected. To be honest, the drive there had been through pouring rain, so I was happy to see the sun, even if it was only fleeting.
