I applied for my firearms certificate and received a visit from the firearms officer five months ago. He asked me to gain further shooting experience before granting me a .17HMR. Since gaining further experience they have not been in a rush to call me back and I struggle to make contact with the officer. Is there anything I can do to help things move along and has this ever been an issue elsewhere?
David says: COVID-19 has created some genuine problems for firearms licensing departments but there are forces that have used it as an excuse to reduce the service to certificate holders, especially in respect of grants.
