Written permission now forms part of the criteria for lending a shotgun on a shoot to a non-licence holder. The lender must be named in the written permission from the landowner or person who has the legal right to allow others to enter the premises for the shooting of game and vermin. Verbal agreement is not valid. The lender must be named on the consent letter, over 18 and hold a valid shotgun certificate. The lender should be in the presence of the borrower.
