There’s no shortage of portable PA gear these days, and thanks to efficient amplifiers and clever cabinet designs, even light, compact systems can pack a serious punch. However, it doesn’t matter how easy a rig is to transport if there’s nowhere to plug it in! Thankfully, there are now plenty of options available that can run entirely on batteries, offering a great solution for outdoor events or those awkward rooms where there are no spare power sockets to be found. They come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny units designed for rehearsing or providing light reinforcement to much larger boxes that can be linked together to create a serious mains-free alternative to traditional PA systems.
