“Look ahead, turning your head to look through the corner” FOR MY TRAINING this month, I was back with my DAS instructor Ian, from BMW Rider Training in Royston, for some Individual Premium Training. This is conducted one-on-one and is a bespoke course tailored to the rider’s needs. It was interesting for Ian to see how my riding had progressed over the past 5000 miles, especially with the other training I’ve received, so we started the day by discussing what I’d learned, before an observed ride. On the road, we focussed on refining forward planning. Ian talked me through his ‘Target, Focus and Cornering’ method, where you work out the best line through a corner to ensure you’re in the right position for the following bend.
