Is saving money on waterproof boots a false economy? Or do you have to spend big bucks to keep your toes dry?

YOU COULD ARGUE that, after your crash helmet, the most important part of your riding kit is your boots. Especially when it comes to riding in the rain. Leaking jackets or trousers can easily be remedied with a waterproof oversuit. Wet gloves are a bit harder to fix, though with decent hand guards and a set of heated grips (or even a set of diesel gloves from a garage) you can keep most of the cold and wet off. But unless you want to put a plastic bag on your foot or invest in waterproof socks, leaky boots mean you’re in for a cold, squelchy, uncomfortable journey.
