Q Could you advise me on a replacement for my 2009 Honda CB600F Hornet? It looks, goes and sounds great but now I’m longer in the tooth, it’s getting a bit of a handful. I want something lighter, on which I can put both feet down — I’m 5ft 7in — but with enough go to keep up on motorways. A We’d suggest a KTM 690 Duke. It has a tall seat (835mm), but is so slim you should be able to get both feet down easily. It weighs only 150kg and is really easy to handle. It’s the most powerful single-cylinder bike on the market (about 70bhp) but smooth enough not to rattle your teeth out. Look for a post-2012 model with a dealer-stamped service book.
