I CAN’T BELIEVE IT: they’re even the same colour. We’ve ridden this 2018 R1200GS Adventure back from the UK launch in Wales so we can meet up with RiDE reader Nick George and his 2016 GS-A and by sheer chance, the two bikes are absolutely identical. Both are TE models with keyless ignition, electronic suspension, quickshifters and more. Both are wearing Michelin Anakee 3 tyres. If it wasn’t for the fact that Nick’s bike has a topbox, we’d probably spend all day confusing the two. Same red bodywork, beak and seats; same decal stickers; same black engine and shaftdrive; same crash bars and same spotlights. “They’re not actually the same colour,” notes Nick. “They’re both red, but the plastic on my 2016 bike has a matt finish.
