“It tasted great but it looked terrifying” I WAS HALFWAY THROUGH the morning’s ride when the phone rang. I had to stop to answer it. “Are you alright?” Steve asked. I’m fine, why? “Because you just fell off.” That’s when I remembered he was my emergency contact, so must have been alerted by the TrakKing unit fitted to the bike. If he sounded anxious, that’s because he was back in England, while here I was in the middle of Spain, riding off-road on my own, on trails I didn’t know. I’ve been to the MotoGP race at Aragon before. The circuit’s in the middle of nowhere but the ride down is great — about 1200 miles each way with the whole Spanish section packed with fabulous roads sweeping through mountains with stunning…
