The Tiger is a long-serving name in the Triumph range. When the Tiger 1050 replaced the more GS-flavoured 955i in 2007, it swapped a 19in front wheel for a 17in one, lost weight and became a properly road-focused machine, albeit still with an upright riding position and longish-travel suspension. In 2013 it evolved into the Tiger Sport, with a heavy dose of owner feedback seeing headlights, pillion seat, clocks and suspension being upgraded, while the bodywork was tidied up. The current bike has the Euro 4 engine updates first seen on the Speed Triple - a revised cylinder head, ports and pistons with a ride-by-wire throttle, while the gearbox gets a new slipper clutch.
