I rarely sleep for a full nine hours, but it happens on my first night at L’Andana. It could be the expanse of bed, the buttery sheets or maybe it’s the aroma that fills the room: bursts of lavender waft up from the gardens below, joined by jasmine plants that wind their way up the wall of the main building. Nestled on a sprawling 500-hectare estate where the rolling hills meet the Mediterranean Sea, L’Andana makes for a love affair with the Italian countryside. When I arrived, the hotel was aglow from the Tuscan sunset, terracotta turning russet in the evening light.
