BIFFY CLYRO A Celebration Of Endings 14TH FLOOR RECORDS, OUT 14 AUGUST Biffy Clyro have long been British rock’s odd men out. Superficially, the Scottish trio’s bolshy arena rock places them in the same bracket as the Foo Fighters, while X-Factor winner Matt Cardie’s cover of their ballad Many Of Horror - renamed When We Collide - pushed them briefly into the mainstream pop arena. But their sharp corners, propensity for wriggling time changes and singer Simon Neil’s lyrical riddles ensure they’ve always been a strange fit for drivetime radio. That maverick urge is present and correct on their first proper studio album in four years.
