Il existe deux hormones dans la mémoire cellulaire : la leptine et la ghréline. La leptine est sécrétée quand on est à satiété. Elle dit au corps : « Ça y est, j’ai assez mangé. » D’ailleurs, certaines anorexiques ont des taux de leptine très élevés. Alors que la ghréline constitue l’appel de la faim secrétée à partir de l’estomac, la leptine l’est à partir des cellules adipeuses.
