As many of you have noticed, there have been changes here at Plane & Pilot. Former managing editor Amy Wilder has moved onto other aviation journalism roles, and I’ve come over from KITPLANES to take the lead here. And while it’s true that my aviation life has been more on the experimental side of things—I own a GlaStar and will continue to be editor in chief over at KITPLANES—I do have a strong background in GA. General aviation is driven by myriad forces. A strong or soft market overall can dramatically influence any given airplane’s success, quite apart from how it looks or performs. Pricing, too, carries an outsized influence—get the value proposition right, even at a relatively high cost, and customers will show up waving cash. Then there’s the sales and marketing footprint.
