In June, we published “Superiority Complex,” an account of Stephanie Pearson’s circuit of Lake Superior and the threats to its pristine grandeur. Though many readers were excited that the remote inland sea was finally given it’s due, others wished we’d kept it a secret.

As a fellow Lake Superior circumnavigator, mostly on a trusty Bottecchia ten-speed many moons ago, I can offer only two small words: thank you.
