THE GREATEST DRIVER never to have won the World Championship is undoubtedly Sir Stirling Moss. He was runner-up on four occasions and finished third a further three times, having won 212 of the 529 races he entered. Moss may be best known for his great victories in Formula 1 and in the fearsome Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, yet he was first and foremost a Jaguar man. Stirling won his first major international race on his 21st birthday, the 1950 RAC TT at Dundrod, driving a Jaguar XK120 (pictured here during practice). He would go on to win the TT a further six times, including victory in a C-type in 1951.
