HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO GET SHOTS AS GOOD AS ERIC’S
OPPORTUNITIES Make sure you’re flexible enough to adapt to new and changing conditions. If you pre-empt a moment you may be able to creatively include the result in your final photograph. USE LIGHTWEIGHT KIT If you’re shooting on a D5100 or a D7500 you should look at using a smaller lens, like a 35mm f/1.4, instead of a telephoto lens. Consider a superzoom, like the Nikon 18-200mm, if you’re stuck for cash. SHUTTER SPEED Longer exposures blur motion in your photos, but they’ll also introduce blur from camera shake. If you can, wedge yourself in a corner, or prop the camera against a wall, to keep it as still as possible.
