The magazine was first published in 1984 in Assamese language under the editorship of Santanoo Tamuly, who was later offered the Sahitya Akademi Award for Children's Literature in 2012 and National Award for outstanding contribution in science popularization among children in 2010. The magazine stands as the most popular children's magazine for her content and standard. In the last three decades, the magazine produced a good number of reputed writers and set new trends in Assamese children's literature.
