Tapping The Vein is one of the German legends’ gnarliest records: a seething death/thrash hybrid with zero interest in radio exposure. This sumptuous reissue makes an overdue fuss about an unsung 90s metal gem. Comprising three LPs, two CDs and a swanky, hardbound, 24-page book, this is as comprehensive as it gets. The original album has been remastered, but it’s the brutal and pristine ‘2024 Redux’ version that makes this an essential purchase. Three live shows are a neat bonus, including original drummer Chris Witchhunter’s last hurrah in Cologne, and the red’n’black swirl vinyl is bloody cool.…
