On the back of the 10th-anniversary reissue of their Leveler album, August Burns Red have returned to Rock Lititz Studio to play it in its re-recorded form, along with tracks from 2009’s Constellations. The pyro is plentiful, the sound is colossal, and the band’s overall presence and delivery particularly on a savage one-two of Salt & Light and Poor Millionaire, takes things up to the next level; it’s a truly ferocious performance from all five of them. A guest spot by former Hawk guitarist Rodney Phillips on Carpe Diem is a nice touch and seemingly everyone has a go at being bassist for the night; the man usually assigned those duties, Dustin Davidson, ends up pulling triple duty, not only having a brief stint on guitar…
