It might not be as user friendly as Automator, but used correctly, Terminal can unlock a whole new world within macOS Sierra. Terminal accepts specific commands that you type in to enable settings and control parts of macOS that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Think of it a little like a secret System Preferences. Of course, having access to hidden settings does mean there’s a potential for things to go wrong. Be careful as you type in commands and make a note of any steps given to undo them. 1 Keep it awake Use ‘caffeinate’ to keep your Mac awake, stop the screensaver from showing or the screen from dimming.
