Love or loathe them, emojis are here to stay. The text language was created in the Nineties by Japanese mobile operators, and has become a much-loved part of mobile messaging. The word emoji comes from the Japanese words for ‘picture’ and ‘character’ and depicts a series of facial expressions, and plenty more. They do say a picture speaks a thousand words, right? Emojis took off in popularity when they were added to iOS, but did you know that emojis have been part of macOS since OS X 10.7 Lion?
