Uit die hart uit

Ooreenvoudige raad oor hoe om te vergewe is volop. Maar hoe gemaak as die seer en wantroue nog diep kerf? Hoe neem ons die eerste tree op die pad van vergifnis?

Dit was Goeie Vrydag 2005. In ons gemeente se Paasdiens het ek en my man aandagtig geluister na die verhaal van Jesus se laaste ure op aarde en hoe Hy verraai en in die steek gelaat is deur die mense naaste aan Hom, sy vriende. Hoe Hy skuldig bevind is en gekruisig is deur die godsdiensleiers van die dag, en hoe die Romeinse soldate Hom verneder het. En dan hoor ons Hom, Sy liggaam gebreek, sê: “Vader, vergewe hulle, want hulle weet nie wat hulle doen nie.” Ek het Jesus se woorde tot daardie Goeie Vrydag nog nooit só gehoor nie. Elke woord het swaar in my gemoed kom lê, want ek het empatie gehad met die verraad wat Hy sopas beleef het. Ons is kort tevore self deur ’n…
