‘Mens verloor dalk jou krag vir Kersfees. Jare gelede was ons verras om ’n kunssinnige vriendin se stylvolle Kersboom te sien wat met slegs silwer versierings versier was. Ek was verbaas: Is ’n Kersboom dan nie noodwendig ’n bont, blink gedoente wat soos, wel, ’n ware “Krismisboom” moet lyk nie? Sommige jare haal sy die goue versierings uit, maar sy werk altyd met net een kleur. Sedertdien het ons ook afgeskaal en werk nou net met groen en rooi, en silwer en goud – en wit liggies. Dis meer tradisioneel en veel rustiger! Mutti se Kersboom was altyd ’n egte…
