Waar het jy grootgeword? Ek is op Olifantshoek in die Noord-Kaap gebore en het my kinderjare op Kathu deurgebring. Daarna het ons bietjie die land gaan sien en ek het op Secunda gematrikuleer. Jy het lank in Brittanje gewoon… Ek was in 1999 daar vir ’n werksvakansie en het in hotelle en op plase in Yorkshire en die Mere-distrik gewerk. Toe ek weer gegaan het, was dit vir nege jaar. Ek het my ma gehelp kinders grootmaak ná ’n tragedie waarin my stiefsussies hul ma verloor het. Ek het hulle toe versorg tot hulle dit self kon doen.
