Après le succès de Triste Tigre, Neige Sinno nous plonge dans La Realidad, récit initiatique et engagé d’un voyage au Mexique.

La Realidad est un village isolé des montagnes du Chiapas. La realidad, c’est également « la réalité » en espagnol, cette réalité à laquelle Netcha, la narratrice de ce livre, a voulu se frotter en partant au Mexique en 2002. Elle enseigne alors aux États-Unis et suit son amie Maga, qui rêve de rencontrer le sous-commandant Marcos, chef de l’Armée zapatiste de libération nationale et icône de l’opposition à la mondialisation néolibérale. Le « Sub », dit-on, tiendrait conseil à La Realidad. Si le périple tourne court, ces premiers pas en terres mexicaines guident Netcha sur l’un de ces chemins inattendus que la vie nous invite parfois à emprunter.
