Star Letter Burst of golden petals On sorting through some silks and yarns, previously belonging to my mother, I discovered a 1969 Penelope embroidery kit, entitled Sungold. It is a beautiful piece but was unfinished. I researched a bit further and found it was designed by acclaimed artist Joyce Conwy Evans, now in her 90s. I spent two evenings finishing it off: it consisted mostly of petals and French knots. I am now the proud owner of a lovely cushion as a reminder of my mother, and, even better, it is a joint enterprise.
