About Kesari Pune
The Kesari newspaper is a Marathi-language Indian newspaper. The newspaper was initially founded in 1881 by a prominent personality of the Indian Independence Movement, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, in the city of Pune in Maharashtra. Founded to provide a platform for expression in India’s struggle for freedom, the paper is still published today by the Kesari Maratha Trust and Deepak Tilak, the grandson of Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
