Ramsay Street chief Jason Herbison has revealed why the popular Aussie soap has been cancelled, even with the show’s revival being hailed “a very big success”. Fans were devastated last month to learn that Neighbours would be ending again this Christmas, after Amazon chose not to renew the 40-year-old drama. Big changes from the streaming giant mean the show is “simply not part of their content strategy going forward”, says Jason, who’s been in charge since 2013. “We were considered a very big success on Amazon Freevee, and we’re so grateful to them for these two and a half years,” he explains. “And there’s really no hard feelings with that.
