Ah, Summer Reads is finally here. As I make up my ‘have-to,’ ‘want to,’ and ‘pure entertainment’ lists, I find myself reminded of how much fun reading can be when I explore unfamiliar book titles. Some of the best books I found by ‘accident’.
Discover new titles and authors in this issue and on our site www.independentpressaward.com, and open your mind to worlds you couldn’t imagine finding yourself. My default is nonfiction, and for me, summer is a time to catch up on the memoirs, biographies, history, science, sports, music and culture book titles. I know the fiction readers in my family enjoy thrillers, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, romance, horror, etc. For once, maybe it’s time to try something different.
