WAWEL, EL PODER DE UNA COLINA

▪ SÍMBOLO DE POLONIA durante siglos, el castillo de Wawel, en Cracovia, se erige majestuoso sobre la colina del mismo nombre, a orillas del Vístula. Creado en su origen como un castro militar, a lo largo del siglo xiv, con Casimiro III el Grande en el trono, se consolidó como centro político del país. Tras un incendio en 1499, es reconstruido en estilo renacentista. En el extenso recinto del castillo se encuentra el palacio real.
