WLADYSLAW E. SIKORSKI Militar y político nacido en Polonia en 1881. Teniente general del Ejército, comandante en jefe de las Fuerzas Armadas y primer ministro del gobierno en el exilio durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Sikorski (en el centro) falleció en julio de 1943 en un accidente aéreo en Gibraltar. Fue enterrado en el cementerio destinado a los pilotos polacos en Newark, cerca de Nottingham (Inglaterra). En 1993 sus restos fueron trasladados a Varsovia, y en septiembre de ese mismo año fueron depositados en la cripta del castillo de Wawel, en Cracovia. MAREK EDELMAN Activista político y social judío, cardiólogo de profesión, nacido en Polonia entre 1919 y 1922.
