AFTER six months on the sidelines it is time for another Melba. Nellie, that is, not peach.
In three score years and 10 of mainly good health, there have been too many comebacks – three for back surgery, two for prostate cancer, three for knee surgery, one for a hip replacement and now the latest, after getting a lung removed in November.
Friends point out that you can’t make a comeback if you were never there in the first place, that I answer to “Lucky” and that apart from the above catalogue of woe, I am as fit as a trout. When the cancer was diagnosed my handicap was at an all-time high of 26.1.
