Church experiences • During my teens my family belonged to, and was quite active at, the First Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls, New York State, about 15 minutes from our house. I was the Youth Group leader, my father was their Boy Scout leader, my mother was in the choir, etc. We spent a lot of time there even between our usual three hours every Sunday. My best friend and I were there in 1970 setting up a Hallowe’en Party in the basement of the church. The rooms we were decorating were right below the sanctuary itself. For this occasion, I had keys to the church since no one else would be there. We let ourselves in and immediately locked the door behind us before going downstairs to decorate. All…
