FOR EIGHT YEARS, Hillary and Adam Fogelson lived high in the Los Feliz Hills in a sprawling, five-bedroom midcentury home that looked out onto the traffic and bustle and twinkling lights of Los Angeles. The house was private and quiet, and the couple and their two young girls, now 13 and 10, were happy there. But, as Hillary tells it, one day four years ago her husband “kind of looked up and said, ‘I don’t want to look at the city.
